Ohlins rear shockgreenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread |
Seems to be a lot of track day enthusiasts on this site so I thought you might be interested in this. I've just purchased one of 25 Ohlins shocks that were hand built by the Ohlins race dept. for the F4.. Its the all singing all dancing bit of kit , brand new and boxed with Ohlin warranty. Really beautiful . The original price over here was £860GBP. Dont know how that equates else where but this one cost me £600 plus shipping. The guy had four more. If you want more info contact Roger Gillespie on rag@pfsifa.co.uk

I'd get one if I thought it was necessary... I will do my first track day on the MV soon so we'll see how the stock shock does. Anyone changed the shock yet and have notes? I seriously doubt I'll be riding the bike hard enough or long enough to necessitate changing the shock...

Your quite right Andy. The sachs shock on my Senne could easily cope with my limited abilities. But as i am a sucker within a truely consumerist culture I couldn't resist the Ohlins (toys for boys). On another note I believe the standard shock although more than adequate was fitted as a cost effective item by the factory.

Agreed. I think it's made by Sachs right? Probably not bottom of the barrel, but not Ohlins by any stretch either. People keep telling me I need to change my rear shock on the R1 and re-do the fork internals, but I haven't come to that point where it would make sense yet. As I make adjustments, I keep going a bit faster so I don't need to spend that kind of money.
