Starting a Youth Churchgreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
Dear AllThe challenge to make the church more sustainable and to ensure that there are continuous growth, will be an on-going process. We (Pastors) must listen to the membership, read the signs in order not to loose our membership to other denominations and fellowships around the world.
In the Church that I Pastor, Vinton Anderson AME Church,(Eerste River near Cape Town), I am fortunate to have a large youth group (approximately 160) and are ever-increasing. In order for us to keep them in the AME fold, we are thinking of starting a Youth Church. However, I want to hear from BB readers and contributers what their knowledge are and what experiences they can share with me with regards to YOUTH CHURCHES and related ministries. How do you structure and what structures do you put in place? I would also love to hear some of the advantages and disadvantages (if any) of such are.
May God continue to bless us as we work and strive for the Christian Development of our Church.
Rev. William C Legolie, II
