September 28, 2002 -- GAZA CITY - Tens of thousands of protesters, some dressed as homicide bombers, marched in Lebanon, the West Bank, Gaza and across the Arab world yesterday to mark the second anniversary of the Palestinian uprising against Israel. In Beirut, the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah organized one of the largest rallies, where large crowds chanted, "Death to Israel, death to America."

In Lebanon's Palestinian refugee camps, some protesters strapped mock explosives around their waists and pledged loyalty to the Hamas terror organization.

"Hundreds and thousands of our men are eager to become martyrs against the Zionist enemy," Hamas representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan said during a protest in the Rashidiyeh camp.

In Bethlehem, one of the few West Bank cities under full Palestinian security control, several hundred protesters carried portraits of Palestinians killed in the uprising and chanted slogans against Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.Post Wire Services
