Richard, the Seaboard spur from Summerfied, FL to Wiersdale, FL was build in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I spoke to a land owner in the South Marion County area, and his granfater gave the Seaboard permission to lay track across his land to take out citrus and produce products. The line went to Wiersdale, but did not conect with the ACL line from Ocala to Leesburg. The Seaboard line ended at a packing house that was served by both the ACL and SAL. The line was removed in 1954 or 1955. The land owner said, " the land owners along the SAL righway" received notices from Seaboad Cost Line, in the late 1960's, to sign paperwork to give the land owners clear title to the old righway. He notified SCL that the land was never given to the old SAL and was owned by the land owners, and they only give permission to let the railroad use their property. Some of the new land owners did sign and paid SCL not knowing they owned the land and not the railroad. Hope this helps out. Allen Wiener, Ocala, Florida
