Recipe needed!!greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread |
Of course...I'm always looking for recipes :-)!! But now I'm looking for a recipe for the sauce that Chinese restaurants cook their pork spareribs or porks strips in. Maybe it's just a sweet/sour sauce, but there seems to be something else in there also!! I just discovered that my granddaughter loves pork and beef cooked in that stuff...and any way I can get just a little meat into her diet will make my day! Anyone know??

Boy Marcia, I don't know - I always go out for Chinese 'cause I just can't cook it fit to eat. Have you tried going to gardenweb.com; clicking on That Home Site and going to the cooking forum? If you'd like, I'll post the question for you?

Thanks for the response, Polly! Yeah...I know Chinese food is a "mystery". The only Chinese I can cook is stir-fry...and actually, Harry is better at it than I am :-)!!I will check out Gardenweb and if I can figure out how to post the question...I will. Heck, I'll try anything once :-)! If I have a problem I'll let ya know....thanx again!!!

Go to Google...type in Chinese Barbeque Pork, and you will have a whole bunch to choose from. I usually use a packet of SunBird spices for Chinese Barbeque because it is quick and easy. I put in ketchup and brown sugar and soy sauce to it, and I think that they use Five Spice Powder as well as some Hoisin sauce in it.http://www.recipesource.com/ethnic/asia/chinese/pork/indexall.html
