When I insert my AVI files I get an error message "Cannot display this type of file or movie." Is there a trick that I don't know about?

Answers

Try to open your video file with your media player or other viewers you have on your computer. If it will view in that then you can do the following:

Make a button or hyperlink and link it to the file. It will open the viewer and then play your video. It is not as clean as a direct import but at least you can see the video.

if u can open the avi in windows media player then insert object... select windows media player and then select your file
