Bumped to new answers.

OG -- I hope this new password is not a Latin botanical name.

Oh, what a good idea! Miscanthus sinenis "zebrinus" comes immediately to mind.

-- Anonymous, August 16, 2002

That's a Chinese plant, right?

-- Anonymous, August 16, 2002

Ah, you know about sinensis. Yup. As in Sino. Who was that Swedish guy who classified all those plants? Linnaeus, I think. There's a nice article here, Making Sense of Botanical Names

DAMN!!! everytime I finally rmember the spelling of the old one!

-- Anonymous, August 16, 2002

Ok, ok, ok, OKAY!! :-)

I'm *SORRY* for being the Ms. Wise-Guy who thought up the password to which y'alls are obviously referring.

*I* thought it was easy. :P

:-)

Good morning lady Git;

It has been awhile, hasn't it. I thought I'd drop in for a bit to say hello

Shakey!!! How lovely to see you! How are you, what's been going on, how's the family, is it dry enough for ya?

Love,

OG

Brooke, it was the o after the e that always threw me. I was stranded in LA over 9/11 last year. You may or may not remember my reports. One of the helps was OG changing the password to the current one. I was typing under a lot of pressure on public terminals, and every little bit helped.

For what it's worth, I have 12 hours of college botany (gen botany, trees & shrubs, and aquatic trach.), plus I'm a master gardener. I just can't claim any real mastery of Latin. I use cultivar names too much . . .

Meemur,

I do remember your reports. You were busy!

I assure you, I didn't have any idea that password would be so difficult for some to remember.

Promise. :-)

Thank you for asking dear lady. I am doing passably well now (considering). I'm still weak from theat episode I had last year. And it may well have 'spelled' the end of my professional carrer.

But at least the constant continious pain is gone! And there is much to say about being strong (and in pain). (GRIN) I'll take the no pain LOL.

I must say...I do believe that "The Fat Lady" may well get her chance to sing shortly! From the news articles I read (and FOAFs). It seems that we must fight Saddam soon (if he doesn'r hit US first, that is).

Well, I must be off dear lady. But I will make it a point to come in more often...

Hey Old Git,

Don't you forget to send me that password!

Nice to see you here Shakey.

Dang It!!! I have such a hard time remembering even my password to my e-mail. And now I get to remember another one! Oh well, make it good, maybe something from Atlas Shrugged, Alas Babylon , Lord of the Rings or Spy Kids--yeah

Peter never likes my Latin suggestions...

-- Anonymous, August 17, 2002

Well, that sort of suggestion, whether in Latin or English, is probably illegal in Virginia, snort!

I was thinking about that stinky flower, you know the one that smells like rotting flesh. The first part of the name is amorphophallus, I believe.

Just kidding--obviously, if I'm considering a password it ain't gonna appear here. Isn't it Gordon's turn to choose one anyway? Gordon, you wanna send me some suggestions? One word, shortish, easy to type with one hand, since we seem to be accident prone around here.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Short, and one handed= CAT

taz

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Taz, that won't do. I need something that only requires the right hand. Right now, my 'puter set up has the cats lying to the left of me.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Git, as far as the Latin, I was thinking more in terms of something like semper ubi sub ubi. For some reason, Peter doesn't acknowledge it as being Latin.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

right hand . . . there is probably some site that lists all these: milk, ilk, limp, imp, plop, mop . . . best I can do for 9 pm after a LONG day.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Brooks, I was not objecting to the pun. There is nothing I find more delightful than a pun in real Latin.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Gordon has thought of a Most Excellent One. It shall be implemented in the next day or two or whatever. It may well be Latin, I don't know. BrookS and Peter can duke it out between them.

-- Anonymous, August 18, 2002

Yes, it is a most excellent one! Gordon gets a prize.

-- Anonymous, August 19, 2002

Gordon's prize will be he doesn't have to think of one next time. BrookS is the next victim.

-- Anonymous, August 19, 2002

YES!!YES!!!YES!!!!YESS!!!!

hehehe

(er, Git, how long do I have to think of the perfect pword??)

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2002

I dunno. Anywhere from 24 hours to a couple of years, I guess.

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2002

One of my favorite botanical names: Liquidambar styraciflua

I even spelled it right on the first try, lol.

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2002

Big K will not be asked to pick a password, LOL!

-- Anonymous, August 20, 2002

can BK post a picture of the favorite word?

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2002

Perhaps not because then you would want to post a pic of your favorite word and I don't think that's legal.

Snort!
