Hi. Just purchased for $5! Working mill but would like a parts diagram or list. Are parts available if needed? Thanks. Al, Jordan, NY.

Dear friend: I’m writing you from Mexico City. Four months ago I bought an old coffee mill. I found it on a flea market in Mexico. The mill was manufactured by "The Hobart Mfg. Co.", in Troy Ohio. The model is A-9, and it shows as the main trademark the name "Kitchen Aid". I can repair almost any kind of small electric device, so at the present the coffee mill is working amazingly well. I dont have any parts diagram, but i found how to disjoint it a fix it. Perhaps I may help you if you want.

Greenspun,

I also found a Hobart Mfg. KitchenAid A-9 coffee grinder in an antique store - in 1974! It is the best coffee grinder on the planet.

The grinders are worth about $250.00 USD on the open market - but don't sell it. It's worth its weight in the fabulous liquid gold it produces.

Mine has recently stopped working. I'm looking for a suitable repair facility - that's how I stumbled on your message.

If you like good coffed - take good care of that machine. You will be rewarded handsomely.

Regards,

Eric Norman Atlanta, GA.

Saw that Kitchen Aid has re-introduced the "A9" coffee mill at recent housewares show. Retail ~ $190.

Looking all over, but none it sight yet.

Parents had earlier Hobart version '50s through '70s. Great machine. Sister ran off with it when house was emptied.

Still looking!

I have one that I bought at a used kitchenware store in San Francisco (Cookin') in 1980 or so. Love it, as does a friend of mine who also has one. Now my brother and future sister-in-law want one for their wedding present. Any info would be welcome.

I too would like to purchase a Hobart A-9 coffee mill. If you know of any source for one, please let me know.

I just purchased a brand new A-9 at the "Sonoma" kitchen/gourmet store at a mall in Knoxville TN. Price: $130.

That sucker is built SOLID.

It's mine and you can't have it!

I just learned today that KitchenAid re-introduced the A-9, exact in every detail, to the 1938 model. We lovingly put away our 70's KitchenAid mill after 30 years of great service. We bought a Capresso Coffee Team, along with other very expensive mills and none lived up to the KitchenAid. On the internet today I learned they brought back the A-9. I found one at Williams-Sonoma, Marietta, Georgia and rushed out to buy it. It is even better than our previous model (which had a plastic housing and hopper). I'm so glad someone had the good sense to bring back a superior product. It is worth the street price of $129.00, to have a brand new 1938 model.

Saw the new one yesterday at a store for $129, which seems to be the going price just about everywhere. I found one e-tailer that has it for $109. The link is below. I have never used this e-tailer, just bookmarked it based on the price.

I have an original A-9 that works great. When they say they don't make them like they used to, they're right. But, I'm confused as why people say they can't find them. On the internet do a "Google" search or go to Ebay or go to an Antique Store. I'm glad thet've reissued they A-9, but, I'll stay with the original issue.

Hello all- The NEW Kitchenaid A-9 REISSUE grinders are very poorly made.

O NOT waste your money on the reissue Kitchenaid A-9 or you will be sorry. The motors are weak and burn out quite easily. They may look similar on the outside, but on the inside of the new A- 9's resides a far inferior machine.

You can find the originals on eBay quite often, I just got another one in perfect condition for only $ 95.00 USD
