William W. Van Arsdale was wiped out in the first day of the fire in '06. He died in Ukiah in '09. His second wife, Nellie Cochran Van Arsdale, I believe, later married a Harris (WW's old partner??) They had a daughter who was married to a Navy Lt. stationed on Goat Island in 1909. His name was Kurtz. Has anyone heard of this old millionaire and the fate of his widow?

I am not sure of an exact answer however my uncle, Richard Hogan, is a part owner of Van Arsdale/Harris Lumber in So. San Francisco. I can attempt to find out more about Mr. Van Arsdale and his widow.
