Who do you think is the Christ?, definitly a very good theme. Cause I know my redeemer lives...(sometimes people lose faith..) Potential(sometimes we think very little of ourself...lack of confidence) Growing in Christ...(after being born again you need to grow in Christ otherwise...)

Thats all for now. Hope you can use them sometimes.

Love

Hi all,

God has been so good to me. My apartment complex caught on fire in the apartment above me and the Lord spared me. My company is gracious enough to let me go home early and we're off Friday, as well.

One of my favorite sermons is "Next Time You See Me, Things Won't Be the Same". It's about my friends Peter and Paul, of course, when you think about it, it could be any number of people.

To all of you, please have a safe holiday weekend and I hope to meet all of you in the Lord's house tonight and Sunday.

God bless and keep you is my prayer. Be blessed and be a blessing to someone else.

See you on Monday!!

Hmmm...let's see. Some of the titles that I have used this year that folk seemed to think were interesting include:

"They lied and then they died" Acts 5:1-15 " Lost In our Own House" Luke 15: 8-10 "The Blessings Wont Come Until the Work Is Done" 11Kings 3: 6-18 "Things To Think About Before Tou Fall In Love" Proverbs 4: 23 "Just Do It!" James 1: 22-23 "Managing Our Mouths James 3: &-9 "The Church That Made Jesus Sick" Revelation 3:14-20 "Autopsey On A Dead Church" Revelation 3: 1-6

I think a sermon title is important as it gets folks attention and helps them focus their attention. It also helps them remember the message a little better.... Yours in the Joy of Jesus, Pastor Mike Barta

I've been reading this board for a couple of years and I finally decided to join in today and contribute an answer.

One of the most helpful, encouraging sermons I've ever heard preached was entitled, "The Potter's Prerogative" by Dr. Claudette Anderson Copeland, New Christian Creation Fellowship in Texas. My memory is a little fuzzy on the exact theme of this particular revival at which she preached the sermon, but I'm almost positive that it was "From Vision to Victory". Anyway, her real focus was on the words "From" and "To" in the Revival theme and how as Christians we are walking on a journey "From" where we are "To" the place that God wants us to be. She used the analogy of a lump of clay on a potter's wheel (THE Potter's wheel!!!) to describe various stages of the Christian journey. Basically, she said that we need to remember that as we travel from "FROM" on our way to "TO" that we are a lump of clay on the Potter's Wheel and that our journey is all about Him molding, shaping, and re-shaping us as He makes us into what He wants us to be. It was truly encouraging.

It was truly encouraging. I couldn't really do it justice in this short summary. God bless each of you.

Sorry to all for the duplicate post. I wanted to add something while I was sending the first message and I thought I stopped it before it went through. I added something and then sent what became the second message.

I apologize for the mix-up. Have a blessed day.

I don't have a lot of odd sermon titles but I do have a few. I will be glad to share the notes with anybody who may be interrested in knowing which scripture reference they came from. I would not have a problem with someone even preaching from my notes. They are my notes, but the sermon is from God. Here they are: Sermons Never Die, Stop Looking at Joseph's Coat, The Seventh Man, I am an Amalekite, Satan's Greatest Victory, Between Bethany and Pentecost, Instructions On How To Backslide, The Undelivered Message From Hell, Why should you die before your time, When God rolls up his sleeve, Four thing in Hell that should have been in the Church.
