Are you the kind of person who tends to have more friends of the opposite sex, or the same sex? Does it suck sometimes?

I am definately not the type of girl who has tons of girlfriends. Every since I came to Jersey I have not had any female friends. I thought it was just Jersey, but my only friends at home are the same as me... we hate girls. And I really only have two girlfriends from home.

Oh well...

I love you Katie.

I am one who has more girlfriends. I find it nearly impossible to be friends with guys. I always want them or think they want me or something weird like that.

I have that same problem....I don't like most girls.

(Heh, I love my new e-mail address. Well, I will until I start getting eight zillion tons of pr0n SPAM, anyway.)

Friends wise, the genders are pretty much balanced. In "real life", I have more male friends - although most of my close friends are girls - and over the Internet, I have more female friends. I totally get the "misogynist" thing, though: I don't hate women in principle, but they tend to be a lot more bitchy and over-emotional than blokes. I'd rather spend time with someone who was outright insensitive than someone oversensitive who'd later stab you in the back.

I do miss female company occasionally, though. Like, when my sort-of- boyfriend (at the time) went after my one of my friends (who he'd never met before, and was unlikely to ever see again) in front of me, I only had male friends around to talk to, and they were all like, "What a geen! I'll beat up him!" (Which would have been quite amusing, since they were all a lot wimpier than he was) and I was like, "Nooooo, I'm the idiot!" I needed female friends to go, "What a geen! What were you thinking?"

Also, more recently, I was with a bunch of male friends, and they were all going on about how great the "Tainted Love" video was. "It's boring sexist krap!" I said. "Yeah, and we love it," they went. Argh!

I have always had more guy friends than girl friends. I hate the stereotypical girl. A year ago, I got into a really close group of girls, and while I enjoyed it for awhile, it turned real sour when one of the girls turned against me. She totally destroyed everything I cared about, including my relationship with the other girls in the group. So since then, I have stayed away from females and I've actually been a lot happier. I'm much more confident about my body anyway...It's weird how girls can make you feel so bad about yourself and guys can make you feel so good.

I do have a couple good girl friends, because I've known them since elementary school. And they are definitely not the stereotypical girl, and most of them have more guy friends as well, so we get along just fine. It's strange.

I have NO male friends at all.......ALL my friends are female. ( My whole life it's been the same, so i dont even think about it ) I dont do any GUY things anyway, so it's not a factor............JON

All of my friends are guys. I try talking to girls and being nice, but they're just cunts to me so I gave up.

my pals are equally divided- males and females. it hasn't always been that way. ... i used to be like katie and have only male friends, which i think was due to the fact that i'm kinda shy and it's easier to just "flirt" and make friends that way then to have to strick up "small talk," if that makes sense (i also used to have this inferiority complex around girls to make myself feel better about them not making the first move to be friends, i think- "oh, SHE'S just jealous and i'm way too good to talk to her!"- obviously it was the other way around). through personal experience (that's first- person), i've known girls to be "full of drama"- well, guys proved just as retarded sometimes. anyway, a month into my first year of college and without any social life, i realized i'd better suck up any pride and start talking to girls my age if i wanted to get out of the ol' depression. it worked. meet one girl and she'll introduce you to your friends, and them to their friends, and suddenly you're quite the opposite of lonely- a regular extrovert, in fact, who regrets being able to spend less time being introspective.

my problem with friends right now is that i have three or four really great, we-can-count-on-each-other friends, but they all hate each other. and as i get older, i'm becoming more of a social person than a one-on-one person. argh. it was so much easier in high school, with cliques...

I've always been the type to have opposite sex friends. I dont know why, but most of the time I never got along with other guys because I was a little too on the side of "sensitive" I guess. But I do have some guy friends...

Don't know why I get along with girls better... Katie? You're like my longest running real-friend-thats-a-girl..? :)

I have more guy friends that I party with, but when hanging out or just going out I have a 50-50 split between guys and girls.

I was at an all-girls' school for the first 2 years of high school so it was default that all my friends were girls. Then I moved here to Virginia, went to a co-ed school and found I clicked more with guys than I did with girls. Most girls here at my school are so cliquey and totally about what's "in" which I think is really stupid, so as consequence most of my friends are guys. I have one or two girl friends, but we're not super-close or anything, although I do stay in close touch with my friends from my all-girl's school. But my closest friends are guys.

Funny, I was just complaining about this very same thing. My three closest girlfriends aren't here right now. One got married and moved to Toledo, I rarely hear from her, and my other two closest girlfriends are either in a different state or country for most of the summer. I desperately need a girlfriend to go shopping with. If I lived by you Katie I'd go and do girly things with you, same if I lived by Suzie. I too typically get along better with boys. I always seem to have a hard time finding girlfriends, I"m really girly, but I'm not the over emotional stab you in the back type, and whenver I become friends with girls who are into uber girly stuff, they usually stab me with their overemotional and clingy melodramas. I miss my girly friends who are more like me.

Pretty much 50-50. I'm closer to my girlfriends, though. I spend most of my time with one of my boyfriends, due to the fact that he only lives around the corner so it makes everything that much more conveniant, although most of the time I wish I had a girlfriend just down the street I could pop in and see.
