Which is a better buy? A Canon Powershot A40 or a Nikon Coolpix 775. Where would I be able to get the best price?

A40 is much better than Coolpix775 on following counts -

1. It works on AA Battries 2. Photo Quality is better

and canon a40 takes movies with sound! Nikon Coolpix 775 got no sound.

Canon A40... It is the best 2.0MP digi camera I've used. The photos taken are excellent!! I mean really EXCELLENT! The quality of the photos taken could be compared with the mid-range digi cameras in the 3.3MP and the lower 4.0MP cameras. This is due to its sharp multi-point focus. To top it off, the camera also comes with customizable settings for the semi-professionals to create wonderful special effects photos.

Buy this... I highly recommend it...
