I like the idea in this photo, and I especially like the cyclists emerging from the shadows at the top. I also feel that the photo has some dead space at the bottom, and the brighter area at lower left detracts some from the image. Perhaps some cropping in the lower area would make this a better photo.

I like it, but agree that waiting a fraction of a second more... to get the cyclists into the bottom would have probably made it a near perfect image. I nit pick.... its a very good photograph.

nice shot. I have shot cycling before, so I know how hard it is to shoot, especially when you don't have a motor drive burning up film. I always try to shoot some color since the vivid colors of the bikes and cycling jerseys can lead to some dramatic shots.

Bravo! For me, this shot is all about the great shadows. I would make an L crop, removing the bottom third (so the bottom edge is near the bottom most shadow) and removing the left third (so the left edge is closer to the cyclists). The resulting image would, I believe, further emphasise the shadows and the curving pattern of the cyclists. -Ollie http://www.web-graphics.com/steinerphoto

Hi, William:

Great photo. I, for one, wouldn`t crop anything. I assume you composed your photo the way it is and it is a succesful composition for me, indeed. Cropping part of the bottom makes it loose the speed sence, IMHO (the arrow head shape on the left and room enough for the ciclists to "fall down" from the image . . .).
