I think that this show could be pulled off very well. But hey it was done last year by Triton Highschool. You won't believe how many people are complaining about that. We love coming to see shows at mainstage, but not ones that were done in the community just a year ago. I agree with the other person that wrote in, you do need better people who pick the shows. What about Annie get Your Gun, or shows that haven't been done in a while? Godspell? Please someone write in and explain why your picking such shows that have just been done!

Hey guyz! My name is Trista and I am 14 years old. I wanna join mainstage soooo bad. But this summer I am going up to Boston to spend the summer! Anywayz, by reading this and all the entries, I think that it doesn't matter what show ya do. You cannot believe how much thought goes into selecting a show for our summer Mainstage production. We have certain criteria that we follow when selecting a show. It has to be a family musical, that can handle a cast of 100 teenagers and young adults. It has to be a show that is fun to do so that kids will enjoy performing, and audiences will enjoy attending. It is true that Triton did the show last year, but most of our Mainstage kids don't go to Triton and did not get a chance to be in this wonderful show. Why shouldn't we do it adn allow kids from all over the south Jersey regions a chance to be in tis show. Also, think about all of the high schools, community theatres, and semi- professional theatres around. It is nearly impossible to find a show that nobody has done in the past two years. As for "Annie Get Your gun", a good choice and it was up for consideration, but that too was just n Philadelphia with the national broadway tour. As for "Godspell", Mainstage has already done that show twice. This season other local groups are doing Footloose, Once Upon a mattress, Superstar, Grease, Joseph, Annie, Evita, Guys and Dolls, and others. You can't get the rights to Oklahoma, and 42nd street, etc. Seems to us like Singin' in the Rain is a great show for our group. Triton proved that it is a fun show to be in, and a fun show to watch. It is a classic with great songs, great dances, and cool special effects. Also,Ttriton is not Mainstage, and it will be fun trying to make our show every bit as good and as much fun as Trion did last year. I hope you will all come to see it--bring umbrellas!!!!!
