How about we just all get along!greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread |
This is the way I see this whole forum brouhaha. Someone got mad at someone on one of the forums. That person started posting some things because they were mad. I am not even sure how it all happened because I was never posting on the forum in question. Pretty soon one forum's problem became another forum's problem, until everyone bailed. Although I like and respect many of the forum owners involved. Although I think that their may be some merit to their complaints. I simply do not know what has truly happened, because I wasn't involved. Nevertheless I refuse to continue this insane domino effect simply because. I like this format. I like lucinet. I will probably post from time to time on this new thing, but it is just too complicated for my taste. I like receiving all the posts via e-mail, because it saves me time. My attitude is say your piece, but don't expect me not to say mine. God bless you all!Little Bit Farm

I have posted on all the forums and I certainly missed the big event of whatever happened. There are messages I just ignore and frankly I am glad to have missed it and have no interest on what happened. Anyway I will say it is annoying to hit Lusenet which is one of my favorites and half of it seems to have been taken over by forums that are on the strange side to say the least. I think this has just recently happened. Although I have been out homesteading a little more than usual. I think I'll stick around here, can't seem to get use to the new forums and I do not have the time to figure it out. Yes, I like this format better, just hope you'll be able to keep it. Good Luck - Debbie in Ok.P.S. When the peaches are ready out there in sulfur will you post, I need to can peaches this year.

Debbie we have strawberries right now. I'll post for the peaches. Will you post for the blueberries? Really would like to have some for jam and pies, and muffins and...Little Bit Farm

Sure will, I bet those strawberries are delicious. I just canned a couple dozen pints of jam but they were store bought strawberries. Our farmer's market really doesn't take off until all the produce is ready. It is a sorry type market. Although I have done great with the blueberries there. Does your area actually have strawberry farms. I have only been in OK. for 4 plus years and in that time have spent the most getting this homestead together with all the planting . I am now ready to travel this state and see what it has to offer. Debbie

I admit to ignorance re the "bruhaha" stuff but if that is about Countryside moving that had nothing to do with it. The fact that the Magazine will no longer sponser the forum and the Greenspun forums (Lusenet)are all naturally being phased out prompted the move. I like the way the Lusenet Forums operate and will be sorry to loose them. At least we can enjoy them while they are here. :) LQ

Well, I missed all of the turmoil myself, so I cannot comment on that; but it is an indication of the extreme immaturity of all involved. Personally if someone has a problem it is or shall I say was generally agreed upon that the disagreement was to be reasoned out with both parties and arbitrated by another if no reasonable conclusion could have been accomplished by the disagreeing parties. Nowadays since reason is appearantly being thrown out the door, and unfortunately out the mind as well; that the end result of lack of reason is settling the dispute with force or by causing problems that settle nothing but the need to retailiate in kind; which accomplishes nothing. So you have the results before you due to this lack of thinking. I do agree that the "new" site is too much, loads to slowly and genrally has too many useless features that cause the site to lose it's value (to me that is). Since the fastest speed I can get is 24kps, such sites are a burdensome prospect. These sites are created for the one's who have fast connection rates and not for the ones who live in the woods whose telephone lines are so old that it is a miracle that they can get internet access at all. I agree with your last comments, speak your piece and expect otehrs to speak theirs anything less is tyranny. Respectfully submitted. Regards,
