The only comment that I have seen posted by him, that referred to you by name was something to do with post(s) on another forum, which I was not aware of, have not read or followed up on.

stan go to the bottom of the c s forum and re read what is good and bad. Bob se,ks.

Bobco, I went to the bottom of CS forum to see what you are talking about and don't get it. Could you elaborate a bit. I didn't see anywhere on there anything that said what is or isn't acceptible.

Stan, I have noticed it too! Don't have any answers though, I guess I really don't care enough. There are other sources on the internet where we can post questions others may find objectionable.

Different Strokes for different folks , I guess.

Susan, I also went and looked. Could not find any reference to what is acceptable or not.

Forums are generally only as good as the moderator. If they are even handed and interfere only when PUBLISHED rules are violated, the forum succeeds. Otherwise it will deteriorate into a "feel good" place for a few people. Many forums on LUSENET are that way. (A 'feel good' place for some may be offensive and abusive to others.)

Stan, I have heard a lot of usual things about you from a person who spends a lot more time on the internet and watching these forums than I do. If it is true, then you must be totally aware of what you have done and perhaps thought no one was paying attenion. If you are unaware of your activities, then I suggest a doctors visit and perhaps lithium therapy since the only folks I know that do that are bipolar. I am not being judgemental cause I really don't care what you do and I do not have any young female offspring, Get my drift? It also has something to do with you starting about a dozen other forums. None of my business, don't care what you do or don't do, but you asked.

I was realling hoping this CRAP (sorry but it is the word that fits) would not make it over to our forum. But then we would have one of those safe places that Joe is talking about.

Karen I think Stan is VERY aware of what he has done most of us are. However it was not done here and never has been. Thank you Stan for that! I think Stan's question was about OTHER threads, NOT just HIS that are being deleted for some reason neither he or others understand. He is mearly asking a question that I think is a good one, one I have also asked myself. As far as I have read here the answer is that no one here has a clue either as to why these posts are being deleted. So we are all in the same boat as Stan, aren't we? Jay, do you know where the rules of CS forum are located?

Under the "User FAQs":

2. Q: I find one of the questions or answers in a LUSENET forum to be offensive. Can it be removed? A: As a general rule, the webmaster does not censor content on the LUSENET forums (or anywhere else on greenspun.com, for that matter). Exceptions are made for content that is obscene, incites violent acts, or is obviously illegal. If you spot content like this, please notify us and we'll deal with it as quickly as possible.

Otherwise, we are quite reluctant to censor content on LUSENET. For a variety of reasons, we almost never remove content from LUSENET forums that does not meet the above guidelines. (In fact, if you find yourself strongly disagreeing with the opinion of another user, then you might want to consider yourself intellectually stimulated rather than offended!)

If you continue to believe that a question, answer, or thread is inappropriate, your best bet is to contact the moderator of the forum, who also has the power to remove unwanted posts. You can find the name and email address of the moderator on the main page for the forum, at the bottom.

I must post in "official capacity". Please stay within the parameters of the mission statement of this board. The statement follows.

A country Singletree is intended as a discussion board where mature singles may exchange information of a wide and varied spectrum. As this site is public access and A Country Singletree holds no control or responsibility over thread content or acquired use , the board administration requests only that threads relate to issues pertinent to the single modern homesteading lifestyle as much as possible and be non-hostile in presentation. Site moderation shall be executed within the perameters as defined by the host server on which this discussion board resides.

I will monitor content and contact the posters of any content which violates the afore mentioned statement by private email. Any situations that cannot be rectified by involved parties to satisfy the site mission statement requirements will be addressed by a public moderation vote of forum participants for content censorship.

BC that just seems to apply to Lucnet in general not the CS forum in specific. Does anyone know where Chuck has his rules/protocal posted?

-- Susan in MN (nanaboo@paulbunyan.net), May 09, 2002.

On the Ask New Question page...

"REMEMBER THAT THIS FORUM is provided to further the exchange of information and ideas related to self-reliant country living (homesteading). Note that your question or comment may disappear from this forum for any reason or no reason at all, at the sole discretion of the forum moderator or administrator. If your post contains material of a political, religious, profane, mean spirited or just- plain-silly nature, the chances of it being removed from this forum are good.

Honest to goodness homestead related topics in the spirit of Homesteading are warmly welcome.

Thank you for your interest. "
