I love the word "Wow!" there can be such joy to that word. Have you heard a sermon that just grapped you? And you had to get out of your seat or you reflected on it for a while. Do share the Pastor's name and if they have sermons on tape please let us know. I can't wait to read your responses. Thanks everyone!

Yes Rev. Rogers, On 2 weeks ago at the opening day of the New York Annual Conference of the First Episcopal District The preacvher was the Rev. Melvin E. Wilson, pastor of St. Luke AME Church in Harlem, NY. His sermon was entitled"Whats So Amazing About Grace?". Dr. Wilson paralled John Newton's hymn Amazing Grace to the Apostle Paul As Paul struggled with his thorn in his flesh. I've heard that Corinthian text preached several times but the spin he put on it using a comparison on Newton's life, experiences as a slave trader on the ships to his conversion was awesome. We so many times sing songs and hymns in our churches and never know the real testemony behind lyrics and how the auhor of the hymn had been moved to pen those words in the first place. Rev. Wilson had the congregation at Emanuel on our feet as we listened to a skilled theologian and Gospel preacher sharpen his craft while at the same time causing us to look once again at a text like we would never see it again.

Funny you should ask the question. My Pastor (Rev. Lorne Bean)preached on Sunday from Acts 1-1-11. With the question are we standing here waiting when there is work to be done. The essence was that the Church change from micing (Bermudian for day-dreaming) to movement. A well delivered holy ghost filled sermon. God Bless You

I recently said WOW to a short message a brought to a 82year old while serving Holy Communion.I did not have sermon notes or anything accept the word Haggai 2v9.Hagai's message is about the latter glory and future glory. God told me to say that if you think things were good when you were younger and more able.He would make it better in the future. As older people always say "in my days, things was...." God promises His people the future that He gives is filled with streets of gold and no worries nor tears. She was so uplifted and tears formed in hear eyes as she sat in her be not able to do what she wanted to. I thank god for this lesson that ministered to my heart as well.god bless you my sister for reminding me what our church is all about ,not only politics and pain but the Word and Wonder
