My Bantam hen has hatched out 4 little babies so far. And my duck "Peeper" has hatched out one baby goose. They are so cute!!!

I remember when I had the misfortune of being in the incubator house at a friends farm as 60 ducklings were hatching. Talk about a lesson in "imprinting" :>)

Jay it's a maternal thing! The look in their eyes when they see you and have imprinted on you is wonderful. With geese when they grow up they will defend you to the death too, not unlike guard dogs with livestock.

All I know is I can get those orphans fed quicker than Hank can. They still swarm me.
