I have known the DeVaux family since 1987 when Bishop DeVaux was pastoring Metropolitan AMEC in Wash DC. One of the David's sisters has made contributions to this BB. I attended a workshop in Orlando, FL last summer that David DeVaux conducted @ St. Mark's AMEC. The workshop was filled with Biblical tenacity, current application and good humor. He was an exceptional presentor. His transition to eternity, while indeed a loss to the AMEC, is a gain in Heaven. I will continue to uplift this family in prayer. Thanks Linda for this information. We at St. James AME in Havre de Grace Md., had the pleasure of having the Rev. David Deveaux as our Men's Day Preacher in 1999 and 2000. He was blessed by God with the gift of preaching. Often times in his message he would refer to the phase,"I am going to give you this for free." Rev. David Deveaux freely gave his life in the service of the Lord. I pray that the Lord will send his comforting spirit to the Deveaux family and the many friends who blessed by David's life and ministry. Yours in Christ, Daniel Barnes

Obn behalf of the Gipson family we would like to extend to the Deveaux family our sincerest sympathy and prayers regarding the passing of Rev. David Deveaux. We were so fortunate to have shared in the life of Rev. Deveaux during his formative years in Princeton, Lawerenceville and Trenton, New Jersey. We knew David for the youthful, inquisitive and active child he was. His love for his parents, siblings and a deep respect for the African Methodism was evident even then. As David grew into a man we also were proud to see and hear of his many accomplishments both personally and spiritually. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers as we are confidant that the God we serve knows best.

Thank you all for the beautiful words about my brother David. He was a very unique person who touched many lives-- I thank God for the time that I had my "baby brother" and I am at peace with the fact that David completed his assigned tasks here on earth and has earned his heavenly reward--God is Good!!

It has been 7 months since David's transcendence and yes my heart still aches and the nights are still very long, but I will bless the Lord at all times. I miss and love my husband. It's hard to lose such a big man (smile). My teddy bear and best friend. David had a big heart, a great sense of humor and a passion for ministry. He was a phenomenal preacher, wonderful husband and exceptional father. I thank God that he chose me to serve as his helpmate. They tell me it gets easier (smile). The Lord has remained faithful. Have a blessed holiday season and thank you all for the wonderful words of encouragement and for your prayers. David's Wife, Tina DeVeaux
