Greetings -- Info follows on (a) Gwen Shamblin Weigh Down Workshop/Remenant Fellowship Church, and (b) Bill Gothard and his various seminars.I posted some time ago re: the Gwen Shamblin Weigh Down Workshop, which a number of congregations across the US have worked with. Understanding that she had a church of Christ background (of some sort) it was interesting to study her background, and the background of the Remanent Fellowship (which she calls her church, which may the the only true church, depending on which of her writings you read).

This is a great starting point to research on Gwen and her background.
With regards to Bill Gothard and his various seminars, check out:

I had a very interesting email on Wednesday from someone I trust and respect highly. They said their experience with Gothard was through their roommate, who had attended one of his workshops in the middle 70's. This friend tried to look through Gothard's notebook the roommate had received, and was told never to look at the Gothard stuff. It was only for those who had attended the seminar. I take from this one or more of the following: -- He wanted to ensure more people attended the workshop, making him more money, or ... -- He had some things to hide, or ... -- Maybe he felt people would "misunderstand" the notes without attending the seminar.
I tend to believe a combination of the first two.
Anyway, both of the above sites are great places to start some research into these beliefs.
