Welcome to the month of May! These are important times in the lives of Muslims. On our TV screens we see events of great impact in Israel, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Central Asian nations, and in Muslim communities in non-Muslim nations. The events of 9/11 have truly set off a chain reaction of events among Muslims everywhere. They are very much in the spotlight now.

Much of it boils down to 9/11's exposure of the demonic hatred of Islam toward non-Muslims, especially Christians and Jews. The teachings of violent Muslim leaders that have been propogated for years in their schools and in their media have made their way into our living rooms. Suddenly we in the west are much more aware of the satanic hatred that soaks their lives.

While those of us who are threatened by Islamic violence must certainly take steps to defend ourselves, we must keep in mind that God's will is that they should be saved. While we feel revulsion over Islam's demonic nature, we should also be driven by a desperate desire to see these children of God rescued from it, and brought into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

Joining with others who pray for Muslims is one way you can help that happen. These prayer postings will drop off the front page of this BB in a few days, but continue to check the "New Answers" section. There will be more posted there regularly.

Please pray for the Kurds. This ethnic group hails from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. There are also many Kurdish communities around the world. Pray that Christians will develop a burden to see the Kurdish people saved, and reach out to them in prayer and in ministry.

Please pray that God will help SAT-7 to implement a web site for interaction between Arabic speakers to share testimonies and to answer questions. Thank the Lord for all the Arabic sites where the Gospel is available, and pray that many Muslims may understand the Truth of Jesus.

Please pray for Turkey. As the rural population moves to the cities, and as women become better educated clashes of culture are occuring. Generations old customs are conflicting with modern liberties. Pray that many Turkish people will find the correct balance between liberty and morality through a relationship with Christ.

Please pray for workers for the 53 unreached people groups on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. One worker has recently been trained. Pray that she will be a channel of grace for her people.

Please pray for Nigeria. Muslims in Kano city killed a truck driver last December. He was unloading his truck when Muslims attending a nearby service surrounded and clubbed him to death. They claimed that the exhaust from his truck was desecrating the Quran. The driver tried to make it to a police station, but the police fled when they saw the mob.

Please pray for Algeria. This North African nation was a French colony for 132 years and gained its independence in 1962 after a bitter war of liberation. Economic failure and political abuses of power have provoked widespread agitation for change. Democratic elections gave victory to an Islamic political party, but the results were annulled by the army. In reaction Islamic terrorists have launched a brutal wave of terror against the population. Pray for miracles of revelation to these people to bring them to Christ, peace and protection for the people, and Godly solutions to their situation.

Please pray for the Central Shilha people. They are one of three groups of Shilha Berbers living in Central Morocco and Eastern Algeria. Though they are Muslims their religious practices are based more on tradition and the decisions of community judges than the Qur'an. Pray that: - God will call forth prayer teams to begin breaking up the fallow ground in the hearts of the Shilha people. - The Lord will protect the 204 know Central Shilha believers in Algeria, and give them a voice to share the Gospel with their own people. - God will annoint the Gospel as it goes forth via radio to the Central Shilha.
