building a bee house,, 8 x 12 ,,, since Im doing theis by myslef, , I want to make the rafters on the ground,, how do I figure the angle to cut?

You need to know the height of the center of the roof, then you can use a right triangle to figure the length of the rafters and the length of support pieces. You can mark off the width of the building and then mark the height (at the center), then lay the rafters on this drawn out on the ground form and then mark and cut your angles for the center joint and the wall notches.
