I read in a recent Back Woods Home magazine that it was much better to be a pessimist.

An optomist looks at the world expecting a certain outcome and is bitterly disapointed with the results. A pessimist expects the worst to happen anyway, and is occasionally pleasantly surprised.

Sounds reasonable to me . . . oh man, that makes me unreasonable too, durn it.
