Okay so we know it is going to be a 1000cc engine in the F4 frame, seen the artists impression.

But does anybody have anything more substantial. Colours, release dates, etc.....

It took me 3 years to get my F4 Senna, by the time an F5 comes around we'll be dead and burried.

Here in the UK motorcycle press say its due to be on show/exhibition Sept/Oct this year, sources say power to be 183bhp.

The 1000cc MV Agusta F5 due for launch at September's bike shows is expected to be the most powerful production bike in the world with more than 160bhp at the rear wheel, according to insiders.

The engine has already been tested in endurance racing without anyone knowing… which may explain why the " F4 " s racing with the Belgium Maxim Endurance Experience team have been very nearly as fast as the quickest GSX-R1000s in the series…

Our source also confirms the final version will be an all-new bike rather than simply a bigger engine bolted into the current 750cc F4's chassis.

The team is, on the face of it, an independent outfit. But MV development engineer Andrea Goggi was spotted with the team at Spa this year and the MV is known to supply it with specially-made parts.

It has been a closely-guarded secret that the Maxim team's engine was the basis of the new F5, until now.

Maxim team owner and rider Steven Casaer has refused to comment but confirms he has a close relationship with the factory.

A source close to the MV factory told MCN: " We have been trying all sorts of engines this year. Even the factory doesn't know exactly what the final specification will be.

And he added: " It will be more powerful than any other road bike – even the ZX-12R. "

I put my deposite down! I don't care if I have to wait 3 years as I have my dealer locked in at retail & I'm second on the list! So get hot or be willing to pay alot extra in two or three years.

I a post further up, with the title "MV Agusta to ride in TT" or something similar, there is a link to a website. If you read long enough, you can see that this guy, Dwight Mitchell, says he rode the F5. No notes or anything on what the ride was like though.

Personally, I don't need an F5. I've got an R1 and it's already too much power as it is. The F4 is just about right.

One thing to consider is that the F5 will most likely have growing pains just like a lot of the first F4s did in 2000.

And after having to live through several of those issues, I think I'll hold off a bit before jumping on the F5 list.
