shutter curtain problem with Canon EOS 50Egreenspun.com : LUSENET : Photography Singapore : One Thread |
hi, like Eric, I have problem with my shutter curtain, or at least I think! recently, I have had problems with my shutter, it stops halfway in the shot so that I can never take pictures. i took it to a repair shop which couldn't find anything wrong. then i figured that the shutter curtain is a bit dodgy, it gets stuck after opening and therefore cannot close, meaning all my pictures are....haha....highly overexposed.... Does anyone know how much it would cost to get this repaired? PS: am in the UK now so its quite expensive to get it done here...

Its a mystery? Did you mean that the shutter never close at all after being stuck? Or is it after a few seconds? If it happens so frequently, the repair shop should have found the problem.Did you check what shutter speed your camera has indicated during your shots? If your shutter remain stuck, your films will not advance and so how do you continue to take pictures when you say all your pictures are overexpose.

i have the same problem too. I cannot use speeds of 1/1000 right thru' to 1/4000 as it gets really sticky. And there is some black substance on the shutter curtain. anyone else has the same problems with their "trusty" 50E?
