Dear Reinier, "Man crossing the street" is my pick. It is definetely Istanbul. Some of the shots (specially of steps, escalators, etc) could have been taken in any large city I think. They don't say Istanbul to me. "Men fishing from Galata Bridge on the Golden Horn" is another classic Istanbul view treated quite graphically. Overall, there is quite a bit of difference in tones in your pictures which detracts from the unity of the whole portfolio. Looking at the absence of DMax in some of the scans, may be you had some exposure difficulties. All this palaver aside I hope you had a great time, and thank you for sharing your pics.

Actually I just wanted to get away from work and home so I could focus on taking shots. Istanbul was the best place at that moment IMO as I considered the weather to be fairly nice and as a big city it would offer enough possibilities for all sorts of photography. I wasn't looking for something particular.

I see that still some of the shots lack the contrast etc I would like them to have. I found out that in some programs they look ok and in others they don't. At home I use 'The Gimp' which shows the pictures very dark, while Unlead's photo express shows them just fine. The pic's that are still bad came from 'the Gimp' so either I have to find the gamma correction settings in that program or dump it (and get photo-shop).

(PS 'The Gimp' is a very user-friendly freeware tool with lots and lots of nice easy to find features (beside gamma correction :-)).
