Has anyone had any experience or thoughts on Tea Tree Oil? Our local Nurse Practioner told me to put 10 drops into the humidifier. She said it is like an anti-fungal and will help clean the air. Does this sound right? Thanks

Hi Jean...I have not used Tea Tree oil for that..but it sounds right to me. I have used it on cuts and abrasions. Dear hubby had a growth or wart type thing that bothered him on his hand. We put it on morning and night and covered it with a bandaid..I could hardly believe it..it went away. I used it as an anti fungal on my big toe..it worked! Good luck!

Tea tree oil is good for shampooing your hair if you have lice or dandruff, also good in an olive oil/beeswax salve for your lips or for minor cuts/scrapes as an ointment.

I don't know about using in a humidifier--tea tree is an anti-fungal, but I don't know about only using 10 drops.

I like the smell, but if you find it a bit strong, mix half and half with lavender essential (not fragrance) oil.

Tea Tree oil is what I use on my cancer sores --it gets rid of them quicker than anything else!!!!

When my oldest son was in public school, I used to put a few drops on my hand after washing his hair and rub it through. He was the only kid in his class, on three separate occasions, who didn't get lice.

I've also used it in the humidifier, as we have environmental allergies here. My son's asthma has improved a great deal since doing this. I don't know if it's related or not, but I'm not going to stop doing it to find out!

Yes, I've used it to heal cuts and chapped hands. I most recently was given a couple Beta fighting fish, which were ill. I placed a couple drops into their bowls, now two weeks later they look wonderful. Blessings, Kelle
