Has this ever happened to you? "This little piggy"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Shortly after my husband and I settled in a rural part of Florida, a neighboring farmer gave us a piglet. Thrilled, we named our new pet Peggy and taught her several tricks.

A few weeks later we asked the farmer to take Peggy while we were on vacation. We left her happily playing with the other piglets, but when we returned, we realized all the piglets looked alike. We didn't think we'd ever be able to pick out Peggy.

Then my husband yelled, "Sit!" and one little pig sat down.

LOL! Now my DH is going to start taking "piggy treats" out to the hogpen and teaching them to sit. I just know it! Too funny!

Our yorkshire pigs also liked their bellies rubbed and ears scratched.

I had a pig named Spot. She would sit up, "talk", and beg for a cookie (I always had homemade oatmeal cookies in my pocket for her) She was better trained than my dog, which wasn't hard.

That is soooooo hilarious!!!

When our sow was VERY expecting she loved her tummy rubbed and scratched. She would lay out like a dog , close her eyes and make all sorts of happy little gurgling/grunting sounds. She was so close to her due date she could hardly get up off the floor but aparently it was worth it 'cause she plopped right over for the scratchings every chance she got! I was glad I took the time because she was mellow enough to let me mess the piglets all I wanted after. But she got spoiled that easy though, and when a 300 pound sow comes running across a feild full blast at you to see what is that bucket of yours, she ceases to be cute!
