Do you think this would be possible? Many of the Stainless steel pots have aluminum rivets. Glass would be fine but I can't think of anything glass that's big enough, inexpensive, and easy to stir. The fats would have to be melted in something else, and warmed before putting them in the bucket, but do you think it would work?

The best way to find out is to take the container you are wanting to use and set it in a sink or tub, and add water that is 100 degrees. If it doesnt melt or show any signs of " give ", it will work fine . I do this to test containers for my lye. I only use plastic for this because I know its for soap, I never use plastic in the kitchen , Just one more of my wierd quirks... LOL

My friend uses a plastic dishpan. Never had a problem with it.
