Every day I watch the evening news and there is again more horror in the middle east, children being bombed, mothers being shot and the fight is only escalating. It is hard to believe that the Holy Land is under siege. I am praying for supernatural intervention by God. What are your thoughts about this war and how do you think our country is dealing with it?

Hello Rev. Rogers,

Yes we should all be concerned about the fighting in the middle east. As you already know, this fight is the result of spiritual warfare between God and satan. I am convinced that christians need to be praying and following the Spirit of God in regards to this issue.

I viewed a news report on the Jim Lehrer Newshour the other night and it was revealed during that broadcast that some Muslims in the middle east are determined to bring Jerusalem back under Muslim control. I was shocked that this was stated so clearly. If that is the goal of Muslims or radical Islamic fundamentalists, then I don't forsee peace in Israel until the Prince of Peace returns.

Of course we should be concerned about fighting anywhere. What to do about it is above my level, but that's why I pray for our leader's wisdom daily.

I think there's enough blame to go around, but remember that Israel is not a regular nation. I'd treat the apple of God's eye with kid gloves regardless of the situation. I believe that the day this nation turns against Israel is the day God turns against us. No one goes against them and survives over the long term. Nations rise and fall, yet Israel and the Jew remain. The fact we read about Israel in Revelation shows us their enemies will not succeed. Maybe the Arabs will make peace, or maybe they'll be destroyed. But Israel will never be destroyed even by the anti-christ.
