i posted oon another thread, that I had this doe, that was due to kid on the 26th of Feb, and still hadn't bagged up much. The day before yesterday, she wasn't bagged up at all. Yesterday she was slightly fuller, not much. Today my husband tells me there is a doe with a wet kid out there! It is the same doe, she has now bagged up a little fuller, but not anywhere near as much as usual. She had a doeling (yea!) but it is just normal sized. I went in and couldn't feel anything but more placents. This puzzles me, because I saw her drop the placenta for the doe kid, it was all of a piece.

I cannot believe that this is a single kid, she just isn't big enough, and the doe's belly looks large enough for a least one and maybe two more kids. The doe is four years old and in good health. I tried bumping her belly to see if I could feel anything from the outside, and was certain that I felt something kick back, maybe it was my imagination. Do you think this is all she is going to have?

Rebekah, I would check her again. Last year I thought that my doe was done after twins, and then I thought that that I could feel movement. Went in and couldn't feel anything more. She expelled the placenta within an hour. A couple of hours later the doe just didn't seem right and I went in again (up to my elbow) and found another kid, not in a sack, dead, upside down.

You know, I couldn't go in very far. Everything past the pelvic girdle felt either soft and smooshy placenta-like, or hard and contracted. Why would there be more than one placenta for just one kid?

Well, I guess she is just going to have the one kid. It seems odd though, and she is not acting right, has her rump sort of hunched up. Maybe she just had a hard delivery and is sore.

Did you give her the big ole bear hug to help her empty? One of my does had so much fluid left in her after triplets that it was amazing. I hope she is feeling better.

She's doing fine now. The one kid is all there is, and she's deflated a little. It's kind of hard to tell sometimes on these big does with a lot of body capacity. And the kid is bigger than I thought at first, and very long boned, so I can't really complain. :-)
