Play the scarecrow's song near the fishing hut. Pierre will pop uot, and you can hookshot him up to the entrence.

the biggest fish you can catch is the 36 pound hylian Loach, which you can ONLY catch with the sinking lure obtained somewhere around the pond (can't say where) Note- you can also get the fishermans hat by casting your line at his head.

yeah, and then he's bald for the rest of the game...you can sink his hat to the bottom of the pond by casting it a few times into the pond, and you'll be incurred a 50 rupee fine..but, it's worth it!
