How can I re-organize my "Favorites"?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cooking & Crafts : One Thread |
Karen, Is there anyway I can rearrange the "Favorites" on my comruter? I hate having to scroll down so far to get to some of the sites that I use most, such as this one. I would love to have it higher on the list.I clicked on "organize favorites", but that didn't seem to be of much help. Thanks for listening or reading or whatever I should call it! Mona Lea, I often preface something that I use a lot with "A". For example, I go to ebay a lot, so instead of having it listed as ebay, I'll have it listed as aebay. You get used to it in no time and it's always at the top of the list.

You need the book"WINDOWS FOR DUMMIES" I have the one "WINDOWS XP FOR DUMMIES" since I just got mine computer a few months ago. They have them for any windows programs and others too.It has helped me out alot.Something so easy for me now,as the above, was next to impossible when I first started,$20.00 well spent. It is easy to organize your favorites anyway you want! There are a couple of ways to do it, but one of the easiest is to just drag and drop. You can highlight any favorite and drag it up (or down) the list to wherever you want it. You can also go to "organize favorites" and create new files (for instance I have one for crafts where I keep all my craft websites. I even have separate files in the craft file named Knitting, Pergamano, Scrapbooking, etc. This way when I want to access a knitting site - I know where to go without scrolling through a dozen other sites. I even have one under knitting called patterns. So you see, I have a folder called "crafts", in it one called "knitting", in it one called "patterns"). You can even drop and drag a whole file up or down the list so the ones you use most will be on top. You certainly want the Cooking and Crafts Forum on top...don't you??? LOL.Also, in case you don't know it, you can rename any favorite either when you add it (just delete the name and rename it whatever you want so you know what it is - cause sometimes those website names make no sense when you go searching for them again) or you can rename anything in your favorites after you add them by going to the "organize favorites" and highlighting it and clicking "rename". If you need more help or any of this doesn't make sense, just let me know!
