Auto return sidestand remove??? helpgreenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread |
Hello, My Mv comes with auto return sidestand, how can I made it into Non-auto return sidestand? any one know how? or I have to buy a new stand for it? thanks

2002 F4's are not auto-retract and will not start with the stand down. You can fit the 2002 sidestand and have it not auto-retract, but you can still start your engine with the stand down. The danger is if you forget the stand is down and ride off.

The easiest way is to buy both the boomerang shaped spring plate and the slotted nut from Ducati. These are what come on the newer 996's and 748's and will cost you under ten bucks. Also, replace the sidestand mounting bracket bolts with longer ones that will allow you to put some spacers between the bracket and the case. This will keep the sidestand from rubbing against the belly pan and will also make it easier to get your foot on the stand.Todd
