12 day old goat stretching out hind legs often and seems depressed.

I've contacted Goat 911 also, but thought I'd list it here also to get as many suggestions as I can. First noticed this at 5pm today, temp is normal, we are not in a selenium deff. area, and the sibling to this doe as well as all other babies are doing fine. She is stretching out her hind legs and standing like that for a few minutes then takes a step or two and lies down. She isn't scampering about or jumping like the others her age and she was fine this morning. If I don't hear anything back soon, I'm going to treat her for colic & vitamin E diff. This may not help, but surely it can't hurt. Thanks everyone!

Has she elimanted? Is she still drinking her milk? Might just be an upset stomach. Some antacid would help that. Some Vit. B won't hurt anything either. Usually, when I have a doe stretching and then lying around they have tummy aches or can be constipated.

I finally got in touch with someone from Goat 911 (the Jacksons) I've given her Baking soda orally, vitamin E orally, veggie oil orally & rectally (don't laugh, I didn't do this all at once) :o). I think it's more of a tummy ache than constipation. I'm still waiting for results... she seems a little better, it is now 9pm. A special thanks to the Jacksons with Goat 911 for quick response and helpful answers!

Oh, I haven't seen her have a bowel movement yet, but I could have missed it. She has nursed a little bit just a little while ago.

If you have not prevaccinated the mom before kidding, or she hadn't had a complete series sometime in her life, or you had a break through in your vaccine, or faulty techinique, you may be seeing the first signs of enterotoxemia. She is the perfect age for this, it starts will her tummy hurting like this, and ends in screaming pain. C&D antitoxin will help with this, the treatments for enterotoxemia are long and involved, vaccination is not. If your bloat remedies don't help immediatly than you will have to use the vet, to get them meds in the quantity you need them and to get the Banamine to help with the pain and to calm the gut. Took baby to vet today. She was doing a little better but I was concerned because she wasn't normal yet. Her temp today was 103.2, her color was good, she was not dehydrated and her stool was normal (very oily because of all the oil I gave her). He felt for any type of impactions, growth defects, checked for navel ill, etc. Other than the elevated temp, all was normal. He said for me to continue taking her temp. regularly and to watch her bowel movements for anything abnormal. She seems much more comfortable tonight and isn't "stretching out" as often. Thanks guys!
