Bulk Spices Neededgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I have checked through the older messages and can't find any info on what I need. I make my own dry rubs and would like to find a source for spices in bulk. Does anyone have a favorite site or store? Thanks for your help!

If you have a Gordon's Food Service or restaurant supply house near you should check with them too. Sam's tends to be a little expensive at times. GL!

I'm voting Frontier Cooperative Herbs in Norway, Iowa. You can get great deals on pounds and even greater deals if you buy 50 pounds. That is a heck of alot of rubbing, wouldn't you say?

I buy my spices from Eldon's Sausage and Jerkey Supply. I don't know if this is timely enough for you, as I have just stumbled across this bullitin board. You may send off for one of their catalogs for price comparisons by writing them atEldons Sausage HC75 Box 113 A2 Kooskid Idaho 83539
Or you can e-mail them at the following
If you would like I would enjoy trading some recipes and discuss the subject of making our sausages and hams. Rusty.

Ditto on the Penzey's recommendation. I've also used them for years and have never been disappointed. They have many spices I have not been able to find elsewhere [like galangal which I use when I'm making certain Thai dishes]. They also sell a double strength vanilla extract which I just love.I find that their products are cheaper and better than grocery store stuff.
