I am very sad today. My yearling doe Storm delivered triplets (two does and a buck) stillborn. She is quite small and too small to handle three, I'm afraid. They were born on the coldest day of the year in a blizzard, too early. They were gorgeous tri-colors! The delivery was difficult and I had to pull the last kid. I'm just hoping mom will be okay. It was quite an ordeal and she's inside with me now. She finally took some grain. I don't what it is about this kidding season. My next doe is due within the week. I'm nervous.

Lynn, I am so sorry about the triplets. I really pray that your doe will be fine. I know how it feels to loose the babies and the stress of more upcomming kiddings. I will pray that this is your only loss. So sorry.

Hi Lynn, So sad when that happens... I'm sorry too. You might consider milking out the colostrum from your doe and freezing it...you never know when it might come in handy with supplementing a kid in the future. Also, if you want your doe to dry up... don't feed her grain...just some grassier hay and fresh water. Might also consider an injection or two of penicillin or Oxytetracycline if you assisted her, to prevent any infection. So sorry to hear you lost your triplets. Our top Alpine lsot triplets a few weeks ago. they were born 3 weeks to soon. It devestated me. And yes, I am nervous too. I know how bad it hurts, HUGS

I think that things like this are the worst Lynn! It's different when you can or maybe should have prevented something, at least we can blame ourselves for not taking the time to have noticed the symptoms. But early births are just awful, and of course anything out of our control is the hardest! I hope your doe perks up really soon! Take care, all will be fine. Vicki

Lynn, I know how you feel, my favorite doe had quads 3 does and a buck. I lost 2 of the does, they were stillborn and so pretty too. Now my doe is down and I am afraid I will lose her too. I have only had 4 babies twice in all the years I have raised goats and then to lose the 2 doelings, it is so hard to take. My prayers are with you and hope this is the last of the bad stuff to happen for all of us.
