Boy I sure hope some one out there has one. My cut out cookie's don't work either! Darn things.....they just sit there in the cookie jar and never do any work at all!! You think they would at least wash a dish once in a while!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I have one, I will look it up and post it later today.

I have a receipe for sugar cookkies that my mother-in-law gave me and we think it's yummy! One of the problems of sugar cookies not turning out is we tend to roll them to thin. I use to do this so I would get more cookies. Wrong thing to do. Roll them about 1/4 inch thick.

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
6 cups flour

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
I get alot of compliments when I serve these to new friends, so I hope you like them too. Whoops! Almost forgot to tell you to sprinkle a little white sugar on top of each cookie before baking. Those of us who have been baking for awhile know to do this, but any new bakers would not. I think sugar cookies with out the sugar baked on top are just not as good. Happy baking!
