Quakertown wood cook stove for salegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Have good condition (not perfect) cook stove for sale.Have been thinking of advertising it on Ebay but don't know what it is reasonably worth. It is a Quakertown(PA.) It does have a small piece missing from the top edge. The chrome is not too swift but the enamel is Good.It is dove grey/white.We bought it from a friend and then found we could get the one we had our hearts set on so we never hooked it up.I have no idea of it's age.I would like to find it a good home.It has a warming closet but no water jacket. If anyone can help me w/info I would appreciate it.If any one is interrested you can e-mail me direct using COUNTRYSIDE /COOK STOVE as the subject line. Thanks in advance for your help. Happy Homesteading!!!

Shelly in WV, Man oh man is that one weird email adress. ANyways. I am looking for a wood cook stove. I could, depending on asking price and what not, pick the stove up in the spring, as I often go through WV coming back from NY state. What is the asking price? What are the stove's dimensions? What size and how does the stovepipe hook up (I really havent ever seen one in operation!). The stove would be used for USE not antique value, so it would have a good home. Is the piece missing important to the stoves operation? Could (in your judgement) a new piece be made by a welder, etc. or is it something very intricate?

In answer to the "critical part" ?. No it is just trim, has a patch on now.The dimensions are (3'2"-Wide 2'2"-Deep & 5'?" Tall.) I don't have any pics to show as I am lucky to have this old Dino of a puter so as it is.A scanner is out o the question as is a camera.Sorry!I am hoping to get this out of here ASAP as I really need the $$$ I am willing to take an offer as I have had it in the local trade paper for $650/OBO.No serious calls though, people here don't understand our Homested Lifestyle.
If you need further info. let me know w/an e-mail direct to me w/COUNTRYSIDE/COOKSTOVE as the sub. Please.

I'm not surprised you got no takers at $650---wood/coal cookstoves run $150 to $200 a piece in this area, so unless your stove is exceptional that's probably all it's worth.

Hi Julia, In response to your statement.I too have seen 150-250 price range stoves around here. They were "roached out" beat up and not good serviceable condition. This stove is not perfect to be sure but is much better than some of the ones we looked at in the process of finding this one.If you noticed I also said OBO.Around here I could advertise it for $5- and some one would want to haggle to .50 cents! I also know that this stove would be worth considerably more to a collector/dealer.I thought I would offer it to someone who could use it,rather than someone who would just turn around and place it in an antique shop in some big city with too high of a price tag on it!Just my 2-cents on that:)
