i am doing a report on poe and i just came across something about him having another wife named Sarah Helen Whitman.i dont know if this is true or not, the wives i know about are Virginia and his fiancee Sarah Elmira Royster. if this is or isnt true please tell me who she is then.thanx.

Poe only had one wife, Virginia. He and Sarah Helen Whitman, though engaged, never married. Doomed from the start, she broke off the engagement in December 1848 when her mother pressured her. He then went on a lecture tour in Richmond and became reaquainted with Ms Royster and they became engaged (though she denied it later) but he died before they married.
