Let's talk about the Holy Spirit, when have you felt the Holy Spirit. God has not left us alone he has sent the Holy Spirit. Have their been times when you felt the movement of the Holy Spirit in church?

Thank you Rev. Rogers for asking those soul probing questions. I must confess that your questions require a great deal of introspection. I felt the joy of the Holy Spirit yesterday when I was visiting a Presbyterian church. On another occasion after fasting, even though I was in a turbulent work situation, I just felt "light" for about two days straight. For some reason, it was the same old situation, but nothing about it seemed to bother me. For the past 3 months, I have been undergoing a spiritual test in the workplace and it is so ridiculous that quite frankly it annoys me. Nevertheless, I know that God is allowing this situation to advance my spiritual growth and teach me about Himself. I am learning to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit through this situation. However, I will be glad when it's over. Praise God!!!JazzMan

Jazzman don't forget to ask your church family and a.m.e family to pray for your work situation. Where two or more are gathered, there is God!

Brenda Well..Pastor Denise. The Holy Spirit was busy this weekend. I felt this ole body (church) illuminating with divine energy. I heard a lesson this weekend that I’d like to share with the board. This sister spoke how we receive gifts from Spirit. She said that when Spirit sends us gifts, they are humble packaged. For example, when G-d sent us Jesus, He was sent in a manger. My heart reacted to this news with glee, because I understood why it is important for to look to the simple things in life as a blessing. Not so much the material acquisition—big house, car---but look the blessings like “air” or “water”. These gifts are simple but very important.

OKAY NOW Y'all talking my kinda topic! Since I have got saved and filled the with Holy Ghost (speaking in tounges) and LEFT the AME Zion Church, and went Apostolic, I feel and see the moving of the Holy Gohst in my life. The Word says, "Oh taste and SEE that the Lord is good!" When I think about Jesus and all He's done for me....y'all know the rest. I don't what would I do if I didn't have the Holy Ghost operating in my life! Being without the Holy Ghost moving in my life is like fish on dry land, trying but soon to die! Every Christian needs to voliently seek after the Holy Ghost. I have read the book "God Chasers" by Tommie Tinney" awesome Man of God. Throughout his book he expounds on issue of Chasing God. We as "church folks" we want the gifts of the God but how many want God himself? The Holy Ghost is God! See I get excited because I think of how I was going through the motions of church without relationship of knowing God. Like Apostle Paul said [paraphrased] I count everything as lost and dung in knowing the excellency of Jesus Christ. Phil 1:21 For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" See like Tinney said, only a DEAD man can see God. When Moses asked God, "I want to see your glory," If Moses seen God as the way he was he (Moses) would drop dead. Is 6. when the Prophet when before the throne room of God and he realized that he was undone. When you get into the awesome, terrible presence of the Holy Ghost, you cannot come out the same. The Church has YET to see the awesome maginitude of the Holy Ghost, because TOO MUCH flesh is in way, when the flesh, our dies, then Holy Ghost will step. Flesh stinks in presence, no flesh or blood will dwell in the presence of a holy God. Even the preachers have yet seen the awesome power of the Most High God, because they the average preacher still beleives that they are the ones who make it happen in church not God. But the day of the big time preachers are over, God is sweeping through the Church with serious power. If you are not willing to die for this, then you will be left.

This is really more of a question/request for guidence than an answer...I hope that's ok. I go to a Presbyterian church when I'm at home (I'm in college), and really like it. I've felt the Holy Spirit there in the sense of love and peace. A friend of mine here goes to a charismatic church, and while that personally doesn't appeal to me, I never minded. The other night we were reading the Bible together, and he asked if he could pray in tounges (he asked me because he knew I didn't, and didn't want to freak me out). I said yes, and when he did, I felt really at peace--I guess that's the best way to describe it. I asked him about the "urgency" he said he had felt, and while he was describing it, it came over me. He asked if I was feeling it, and I said "no" because I was afraid. After he left, I prayed to God and read up on the gift of tounges (which, up until an hour ago I hadn't really believed in--only saw as an emotional experience at the most) as a private conversation with God, and the feeling in me kept going...like a fire in my belly or something. I wanted SO BADLY to speak in tounges to Him, but I really couldn't get my mind out of "the world" and into focus. What can I do? I'm praying for it, but I just can't get past that barrier.

Did Jesus say this to us also? Or was he speaking only to the Eleven (Judas was not there at this time.)?John 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor,£ who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. I believe the Holy Spirit, He is with you when you don't feel or hear Him. Sometimes we make too much noise to hear.
Be Blessed Pastor Paris
