What about cooks and cleans and don't drink much?
-- Gailann Schrader (gtschrader@aol.com), January 24, 2002.
Grizz--what about snoring, belching and cussing?????? If we are going to do this we need a complete description!! :)
-- Lynn Royal (crabbyfiddler@earthlink.net), January 24, 2002.
Must be spring is getting close mountain men are coming out of hibernation. Actually he sounds like a good catch for a country gal. Sally
-- (mallardhen67@hotmail.com), January 24, 2002.
Hey Grizz, how often do ya have to shave your back? HA!!! --Happy trails, Cabin Fever
-- Cabin Fever (cabinfever@yahoo.com), January 24, 2002.
Quit being so hard on him! I bet a lot of you women belch and snore too! If you want an honest, hardworking man with good homesteading values you are going to have to put up with some kind of faults. And, if he cooks and cleans, you should be able to put up with many faults! Good luck Grizz!
-- AyleeAnn (AyleeAnn@hotmail.com), January 24, 2002.
LOL!!! Mayby if im gonna get busted on like this single life aint that bad after all LOL!!
-- Grizz in Western Maryland (southerneagle@yahoo.com), January 24, 2002.
Wish you were in Michigan. sigh
-- Susan in Northern Michigan (cobwoman@yahoo.com), January 24, 2002.
omg , and he dont wet the bed either !!!!! darn griz , yer a little late , this homestead gal got hooked back in the fall of 99 :)seriously , you know , this man has been open enough about himself , and here we are giving him a hard time , he bit the bullet , and should be congratulated .
i honestly and truly wish you all the luck in the world! Beth
-- Beth Van Stiphout (willosnake@hotmail.com), January 24, 2002.
Hey Grizz, don't let them give you to hard of a time, it can be impossible to find someone that will put up with a (different?) lifestyle choice. As for me SWF 40, 2 kids at home, and commited homesteader (Yes I do snore, not much belching though)
-- Sherry (tlnifty@ecenet.com), January 24, 2002.
ok,,is this a personnal advertisement for Grizz,,or can anyone chime in ????? SWM,, 33, no kids,, trying to homestead in Mich,,work construction,,so plenty of free time in the winter,, but make enough in the summer to carry through. Debt free,,except the mortgage ,, rabbits chickens and bees for now.
-- Stan (sopal@net-port.com), January 24, 2002.
Grizz, let the barbs fly right by you. Keep in mind what a very wise person said about women and marriage. Bachelor men know much more and understand women better than married men. As proof they sited bachelors are not married.
-- Joe (CactusJoe001@AOL.com), January 24, 2002.
I understand your frustration! My sister has been divorced for five years. She lives in a rural community and there is NO ONE around here for her to meet. I told her I was going to put an ad in the paper for her. She didn't think it was very funny. Her ex is such a nightmare, she's overly cautious now.
-- Mona in OK (modoc@ipa.net), January 24, 2002.
Stan Susan is from Michigan also !!Mayby you 2 should chat!! This is open forum here !!If nothing else comes out of it but frendship well i think thats great!

-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), January 24, 2002.
He does, but very quietly, and blames it on his girlfriend.
-- happy camper (notagain@home.com), January 24, 2002.
Well Kiss my bippy, nothing to lose? I quit blaming it on my former girlfriend and got me a dog, all he does is just grin. 62 going on 39 again and again. gotta find me a mountainwoman, get back in the woods and put in a big garden and do what comes naturally. Shore glad to see some one come up with the idea of a forum for us'ns. By the way, still looking for someone with plans for an outdoor furnace. Will pay for copy. Cuzzin Dick
-- Dick Tracy (kbrdrl@lakewebs.net), January 24, 2002.
This just proves a country singles forum would be the most popular on lusenet. Ken, how about it?Unlike grizz, I'm a nice guy who has no bad habits. Except one. Go for me, not him.
-- bw (niobrara55@hotmail.com), January 24, 2002.
Anyone can create a LUCENET forum. Someone is welcome to go for it. I have my hands full with this one.Grizz: If you are going to go fishing, you need to go where there are fish. In the country, probably the best place to cast your bait is church singles socials. Once the older women find out you are looking they'll start chumming for you.
-- Ken S. in WC TN (scharabo@aol.com), January 25, 2002.
Hey Griz! Absolutely funny. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Thank you for this thread!. And thanks to those who are "promoting" me to Stan. He's already a homestead friend. He's still a "puppy" tho. Gotta take age into consideration. I'm 54 in June!OKAY Stan, how 'bout helpin me with Maple Sugaring in March. You can have the sap and I can learn how it's done! Plus, I'll keep you in mind if I ever find a Michigoose anywhere's near your age. Whatcha think?
-- Susan in Northern Michigan (cobwoman@yahoo.com), January 25, 2002.
DEAL
-- Stan (sopal@net-port.com), January 25, 2002.
This is wonderful-but I would like a more complete description of bad habits. Really-I think an on going thing like this would be great.bonnie in indiana-single-50-not a real homesteader, but in the country with chickens and dogs.
-- Bonnie Norris (queqid@att.net), January 25, 2002.
I wonder how many 20-25 year old guys from BC, Canada visit this forum. Probably not too many, eh? ;)
-- Rebekah in Canada (rebekah_swinden@hotmail.com), January 25, 2002.
Hey Rebekah- How far are you from Gambier Island, BC? My best friend lives up there and says there are a bunch of guys looking for girls interested in homesteading and self-sufficiency. She is always trying to get me to move up there - from Florida, of course, as far away as I could possibly get from home!!
-- Elizabeth (ekfla@aol.com), January 25, 2002.
I'm in the Okanagan valley and I've never been to that island. It must be at least 5 hours from here though.:( This valley isn't known for it's homesteaders, just for it's wine, skiing, apples and golf.
-- Rebekah in Canada (rebekah_swinden@hotmail.com), January 25, 2002.
I don't know your valley. But maybe you should meet my friend- she knows everyone up there! And, she is exploring ways to be self- sufficient. She pretty much quit working last year, and her husband works off the island until their home is finished and paid for. Most, in fact, all, I think, of her friends on the island that are into homesteading are guys- not too many women up there are into it.
-- Elizabeth (ekfla@aol.com), January 25, 2002.
Stop the presses------Susan--- a Michigoose??????Ok I'm waiting on that one!
Play that one out real good..............
-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), January 25, 2002.
Tell her to get those guys on here!
-- Rebekah in Canada (rebekah_swinden@hotmail.com), January 26, 2002.
Well folks, I met my wife through Countryside magazine, pen-pals about 11 years ago and I sold my homestead in western NY and moved to southern Oregon.
-- hendo (redgate@echoweb.net), January 26, 2002.
Someone mentioned www.homestead.org above...They have a personals section with quite a few listings (mine included). I have received a number of replies..unfortunately no one that I thought was a true down to earth country person...you get alot of curiousity seekers/wannabes. It is a great website and includes many topic areas. Check it out. Layne from NENYS
-- Layne Cosgrove (adirondackwoman@westelcom.com), January 27, 2002.
The Cappers Weekly had a singles section with stories in it several years ago I think it was very successful, whats wrong with trying to set like minded people up rather than fishing in the dark. come on its almost valentines day, I was single living in the country for thirteen years before I found the man of my dreams and its very lonely and quiet five dates in thirteen years hope you find someone good luck.
-- ronda (thejohnsons@localaccess.com), January 30, 2002.

-- Daryll in NW FLA (twincrk@hotmail.com), March 05, 2002.
Hey Alvin, Daryll is right. Click on Lusenet and go down to A Country Singletree. This is a singles forum started by some of the Countryside singles. Best wishes!
