Scored on groceries todaygreenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread |
Scored big time at the dent and surplus groceries outlet today. Breakfast cereals that had the inner bag intact , but the outer box cut by a boxcutter for 45 cents a box. Stocked up on capn crunch, shredded wheat, rice crispies, cherrios and corn and frosted flakes. Bent and dent cans (not mangled or on the rims) 15 to 20 cents each. I spent $65 and loaded 5 banana boxes in the truck. What I grow is better, but any cheap addition to the pantry is fine by me. With just me , the girls and meow here, I added at least 4 months to the foodstores.

Cereal high? I was a hyperactive child. That explain my current lack of sleep and project completions. Aye Aye Cap'n.

Geez, our stores don't discount anything off the boxes that they slice OR dented cans unless it's nearly dented clear to the other side of the can and lost the label to boot!

I went to the super wal-mart and found whole hams for.79 lb. The hams around here have been going for 1.59-1.89 lb.!!! We didn't buy any at Christmas for that reason. I got them to slice it for me and I put them in freezer bags for supper with tomatoe gravy and rice or sandwiches or mac-n-cheese-n-ham or mashed potatoeswith ham and cheese Wow maybe I should go get another one!!!!!!
