i am wondering if moldy food in general is edible or not. almost all of my food is now moldy, but i am afraid of consuming a mold which will cause allergies. however, it would seem that lots of people eat moldy bread and cheese, so are there specific foods which cannot be eaten when moldy, or is it ok to eat all moldy foods, or should one avoid all moldy foods?

i would advise against eating any and all moldy food products, bjorn. you might be able to get away with it, but it doesn't seem sound, from a culinary standpoint. certain cheeses are meant to be eaten when moldy, others are not. well, more moldy than they are than their original state of cheese, which is a mold to begin with.
