Suspected Al-Qaida Dressed As Women Arrested

Men Reportedly Mowed Down A Pedestrian

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Pakistani officials said a carload of men believed to be al-Qaida terrorists was arrested in northern Pakistan, after mowing down a pedestrian.

Pakistani sources said they apprehended a group initially believed to be women wearing burqas.

When the traditional Afghan smocks were removed, the women turned out to be men. Authorities think they were headed to a tribal area for sanctuary. An intelligence official said those detained include a Saudi, a Yemeni and at least one Pakistani.

The group was arrested near the border with Pakistan's North West Frontier province. Both United States and Pakistani authorities worry the region is filled with al-Qaida members who have fled eastern Afghanistan.
