Hey Mitch, I live only 15 miles from Farmville. I go to church and do my shopping in Farmville. We got our place from State Wide Realty, 311 E. Third St., Farmville, VA 23901 (434)392-6163 about 20 years ago. They don't have an e-mail listed, however Atkins Real Estate is located 111 N Main St., Ste 106 in Farmville has a web address of www.atkinsrealestate.com and RE/MAX is 318 S. Main St in Farmville is www.remax.com. There is a lot of property for sale in this area and the taxes are low. Where do you live now? If you need anymore info I'd be happy to help. God bless!

I am on a rock in Purgitsville, WV. and am looking for 3 to 5 acres that is farmable, mainly for cut flowers and a few fruit trees. I need a good sized, lockable barn with water, electricity available.

Hey...... we just moved from near there. I worked in Farmville for 6 yrs with their school system, great school! I would suggest getting ahold of Terry Wilson-Atkins at Atkins Realty, she could really help you. Also, where we lived, near Victoria, there is land for sale there as well. Try the realor we used to list our farm, he is very good, a little rough around the edges, but he really gets the job done! Thats John Davenport at Davenport Realty in Keysville, VA. I can't find of course the old Farmville ph book but I am looking. If you need any other help just e-mail me privately, be glad to give you leads or information.
I really miss it back there, the air always smelled so good.

You can contact Bonnie Tillotson at Century 21 in Appomattox VA. I'm in Hixburg, Appomattox county. Her e-mail: Bjb21@aol.com. You ought to look in Charlotte County, it's nice there.

Ok why would you want to move some where you have to lock your barn ?
-- Patty {NY State} (fodfarms@hotmail.com), January 16, 2002.
Lock your barn????? Patty, we never locked our house or barn for that matter when we lived in western NYS and we certainly didn't when we lived in VA either. Well, the first yr when we were near DC. But the rural areas aren't bothered too much.OK.... I will concede, there were a few nights that I slept with a loaded pistol under the bed because the elderly neighbor was robbed at gun point. And that was in the boonies, not in town or near town off a main road. When the culprits were finally caught it wasn't a pretty sight either. It was 9 miles from town and on a dirt road! But in VA first they have to find you, then get down "yer" driveway, and past "yer" dogs and if they can do all that well.... then they get a "good ole' welcome!"

Alockable barn is to keep my handmade, one of a kind, wrought iron tools safe. I build tavern puzzles and house fixtures, some of the tools have taken a thousand hours to creat; the tavern puzzles are a competive business and are not above induterial thieft.
