Do you have any ideas for church fundraisers?greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
We want to have some fundraisers for our church. i.e for the youth to go annual conference in August etc. Do you have any ideas for fundraisers. What has your church done in the past. Thank you so much. This is just in case I don't win the clearinghouse sweepstakes;-)

One year the youth in our church asked the membership to support their cause by allowing them to perform the often tedious and mundane household chores. Members needing gardens weeded, or garages cleaned would get the youth to do it. Members were encouraged to give a generous donation towards their cause. We raised more than enough for our cause and some left over for the future. Plus, it gave them something to do in the summer. Ray Allen

HI Rev. Denise RogersI might not answer your question you would like me to do but my previous minister taught us something.
Teach and preach the word of God to the best of your abilities, train, equipt, motivate, inspire and most of all leads by example and the Lord will sure fill all your needs. Don't think about the funds that you gonna need for a certain occation but think about how Gods gonna provide. This I am not telling you because I heard it but because we experience it. Our local church manage to cross the R105000 in one year without having even one function and we build a parsonage of R250 000 in cash in the same year with a membership of 150 active members.
Be inspired
Regards

Car washes at local businesses are very helpful. Some businesses might even match what you raised.

have a lock in w/the youth during which you will have a rock-a-thon. each youth gets sponsored to "rock" per hour--in a rocking chair. example:walk-a-thon, bike-a-thon not only do you help raise money that you need the kids have a great time--we watched movies, played games, and just really got to know each of the kids. ps...don't forget to give them a bathroom break but make sure someone takes their place in their rocker while their gone!!
