I have a painting of four chinese junks in the moonlight. It is 20x24 and is signed P. Wong. I would like to know something about the artist and the value of the painting. I understand that this may be Peter Wong but am unable to find any info about him. I would appreciate any info that anyone might have. Thanks.

I have two watercolor lithos signed by a Peter Wong. I too am trying to find out information on this rtist. I have an old Biography that was sent to me from Art Image Inc., Los Angeles, CA I have tried the phone number but it is not working. It says he holds a degree in Fine Art from Californai State University at Long Beach. His orginals are in several important private and corporate collections. Hi Deb, I have recently acquired a large painting by Peter Wong ( app. 3' by 2 1/2') It depicts Chinese junks in the forground and fishing village huts in the background. I am trying to find out as much as I can about this artist. You mentioned that you would be glad to share information you have in an old Biography. My wife and I also have an original P. Wong, 20x24 that we aquired at an auction in Upstate NY back in 1975(give or take a year). It depicts one large and two smaller Chinese junks at sunset. We too are unable to locate any info on the artist and would appreciate any info anyone else has.

From what we have read here, it does seem correct since the gentleman we bid against had aquired several of his painting and later we had heard he was the CEO of United Parcel Service. So it seems the info is on track.

i too have a pwong base color orange 20 x24 1971 meet someone that bought paintings of his back in the 70s she had 5, 4 small and one lager the lager one were the junks she paid $350.00 for the large one. 24x36 the base color was white D.M.G. sr.

In the 70's I purchased a large oil painting at a "home art show." It is signed P Wong. It has 3-4 junks in a golden sunset. At the time, the seller told me this is "Peter Wong" (I had no idea who he was). She also told me that Vincent Price had some of his work.

In the mid-seventies,my late sister sold Peter Wong paintings at the ever popular 'painting shows'much like candle shows and lingerie shows of today.I smelled a rat back then as I do now and can only speculate that the P Wong paintings were actually mass produced in a warehouse somewhere in California as depicted on magazine shows such as 20-20 or 60 Minutes many years ago.I sincerly hope I am wrong for all those who think the paintings are worth something.I personally do not.

I don't think the Peter Wong, photographer, and P. Wong the artist are the same person. I had my two "Wongs" appraised at $550.00 each, about the same size as yours. Each being Chinese Junks in a harbor scene and they failed to sell in my "online" consignment shop after 8 months of marketing. A lot of people emailed me regarding this artist but not much is known. The appraiser didn't have any info either and didn't seem to think it was anyone important.

I have a friend that wants me to research P Wong paintings. He has one that was purchased on January 5th, 1974 from Camrose Art Corp., located in New York. He also has the original receipt from the purchase listing the price at $93.00. He was not the buyer, but received the artwork and the receipt from the original owner. The artwork is 4 junks in a harbor. From the small amount of reading I've just done, the value is under $500.00 if even that high. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm in the same boat.Junk boats that is purchased in the 70's at a home art show. Although I was told that P.Wong was on deaths door and that is paintings would be worth something after his death I still love this oil hopefully an original. If anyone should learn anything about our lost artist please let me know.
