Seeking homesteaders in Williams, Oregon (Anyone From...?)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Our family is moving to Williams, Oregon next spring and are seeking local home/farm-steaders to chat with. Currently we live in Rollinsville, Colorado at 8,600 feet, but are craving greener avenues and a warmer climate. I am an herbalist and full time mother, my husband is a carpenter and farmer, and we have a 7 month old daughter. We visited the Applegate Valley this Fall and fell in love with the area.Do you know of anyone seeking caregivers for thier farm next summer in the Williams area? Any cabins available to rent in the spring? Seeking a farm hand or carpenter to fix up your homestead? We have plenty of experience and referals if needed. We are hoping to create every opportunity possible for a comfortable transition into a new community.
Many Blessings,
Julie Gauss

Julie - I used to live in the Applegate and it is a beautiful place to live. Almost perfect climate. Do a search for real estate websites in Southern Oregon, Medford, or Grants Pass, or even Williams and look for a website for Ramsay Realty. The owner is Clare Stevens and you can probably e-mail them and get some information. Clare and Pat Stevens used to homestead when I knew them and would be a good source of information for your questions.

Hi, Julie, I live about forty-five minutes north of Williams. You're gonna love it there. Check out this site: http://www.grayback.com/so-links.asp I haven't looked lately, but it's an Applegate Valley bulleting board electronic news type of dealie. (Grayback is the big mountain which overlooks the Williams valley. There are at least a few herb farms in the valley, and lots of other growers.
