Quick, Easy BBQ sauce recipe

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Take 1 - 12oz. can of regular Coke and mix with 1-1/2 to 2 cups ketchup/catsup (depending on how thick you want it). Thats it! You can also use this for sloppy joe's or try it in meat loaf.

Hello Tom, I think that I will try that one next time I Bar-B-Que!

Here is one that I like: Take a cheap brand of bar-b-que sauce and squeeze on grapefruit in it. I sometimes add garlic, if I have any around!

Sincerely, Ernest

An easy sloppy joe: ketchup, mustard & TBL apple cider vinegar

Tom, that sounds easy! I'll have to try it. Here's mine and Hubby's fave: a bunch of ketchup (4 cups?) a bunch of fresh garlic (1 bulb (not clove)) 1 medium sized fresh onion cayenne pepper to taste a bunch of honey (one cup?) salt to taste one 12 oz. beer

Whir the garlic, onion and ketchup in a blender or food processor until garlic and onion are chopped fine. Transfer to a soup pan, add rest of ingredients, and simmer 'til thick.

This is one of those recipes I do from memory, hence the "bunch of this" and "bunch of that" ~ I put approximations out beside each one. Play with it until it suits your taste.

Anyone use coke as a marinade for tenderizing tough meat cuts? Cover with coke overnight in the fridge. It works well for us.
